review 1: Awful. I absolutely hated it, what with the smoking, getting wasted, parties.... and at just 16. Another things that I hated was 96% of the characters. Some were ok, and then a good character was Kentucky Will. I rated this book a 3 instead of a 2 because of him and the ending. The ending I liked because it showed independancy, firm decision making, and growing up. The end proved that those hours I spent reading that was waste, and I'm a little bit glad I read it from cover to cover. Just a little bit.
review 2: I enjoyed this. It felt original in a sea of YA love stories that can sometimes feel like just chopped-up versions of each other. (And I loved that it didn't remind me of any other book or writing style.) I enjoyed and felt for the journey and the strug
... moregle of the two main characters--both individually and together--and ultimately the ending worked really well for me. Also, some wonderfully written parts and sections (I love when I have to re-read a line or two because I can't get over how perfect the words are--I did that a handful of times while reading this one). less
