review 1: Oh man what a book! Cynthia Eden can certainly bring the heat...in more ways than one. Her heroine Lora Spade is great. Don't get me wrong, she has her faults but her personality fits the edgy plot perfectly. And I just loved Kenton Lake! What a dynamic pair. Cynthia Eden certainly turned the heat up on this second book of the Deadly series. I particularly liked the POV of the arsonist. This made for a much deeper story with real consequences for everyone. Simply terrific.
review 2: I have to be honest, I was slightly disappointed in this book. It was beyond obvious to me who the bad guy was and what was going to happen in the "big confrontation" between the hero and bad guy in the end. I did enjoy getting to the resolution for the most part, but I really wi... moresh Eden had tried something different. The similarities to the first book were just too obvious. in any case, I do plan on reading the next in the series, as I really want to know how Samantha's story turns out. less
