SPOILERS!!!
I don’t trust Lisa at all. I think she has a hidden agenda, and she is not as generous as she purports to be. From Kat’s memories we learn that she had a relationship with Jake, the boy who she was supposed to star “West Side Story” with. Lisa also had a crush on him, and when she saw them kiss at a party, she was heartbroken and hurt. We know that it was Jake who died when Kat had the accident. So now I think that for some reason Lisa comes for revenge. Her cryptic words “we ‘always’ get what we deserve” makes me think that she is not reliable.
When Lisa meets with Kat and Nick in their house, she suggests they could try to get her pregnant, using a home kit for insemination. After that, Nick and Kat arrange for her to receive £3,000 a month, and then she calls Kat, telling her that her car has broken down and is in the garage as she doesn’t have the money. So Kat goes and pays her the money. I totally believe that Lisa is taking advantage of Kat’s generosity, and she might have other plans to harm her. After Christmas Lisa tells her that she is pregnant, and I wonder if that is true. I don’t trust Lisa at all.
Apart from getting reacquainted with Lisa, Kat has also found herself involved in the play she and Jake were going to do. A company offered to have a performance and the proceeds should go to the charity. The play is “West Side Story”, and when Kat mentions that she once was going to be Maria in the play, Alex, the director, suggests she could play her now, and the actress who was supposed to be Maria, Tamara, will replace another actress that is off on maternity leave. Kat feels that she has jumped back in the past with Lisa and the play, and this makes her very nervous.
Apart from Lisa and Kat, we also get to see some snippets from Nick’s past. His father changed when he lost his job and started drinking. From then on he treated Nick hideously, venting all his frustration on the poor boy. I have the feeling that there is a reason why Nick has never told Kat about his parents. Kat is not more forthcoming, and I find that really strange. How can you join your life to someone without talking about your past and your family? Even though the memories were terrible, you should want to open up to your significant other.
