review 1: This was a nice, fast-paced book. Very straightforward and uncomplicated. Everything is explained without everything being completely explained if you know what I'm saying. Reminded me a bit of Lara Adrian's Breed series but please don't think this is a copy and paste type of story because it's not. The chemistry between the protagonists is palpable without it being in your face. Both Connor and Chloe are very likable characters and they have made me very curious about the other books in the Purgatory series. I really wish I had read the other two before this one because while Charming the Beast is very much a stand-alone it does have guest appearances from characters from the previous books. Hmmmm I actually may just go ahead and buy the others.I cannot wait for Eric's bo... moreok. Very interesting and would love to know more about what he is. How will Ms. Eden make me like him I wonder? Please grab a copy of this one. It's very enjoyable and I have to say that Ms. Eden is one of the most creative writers to date.ARC provided by NetGalley for an honest review.
review 2: “Blindsided Big Time”Charming the Beast Book #3 (Purgatory) Cynthia EdenIf you haven’t had the pleasure of reading Cynthia Eden’s Purgatory series you are totally missing out. Normally I would go into a little detail when doing a review but with Charming The Beast I’m not. You need to be as surprised and blindsided as I was. OMG all the characters were there, Olivia, Shane, Eric, Connor, Duncan, Chloe, Holly and Keegan. This read grabbed me from the first paragraph and never let me go. Talk about book hangover. The action is spot on and literally has you holding your breath, and the assignment Connor is placed on brings together him and Chloe and the story is amazing. Totally amazing.Three quarters or so through the read Ms. Eden throws a twist that totally blindsided me and from that point on you can’t put the book down even if you wanted to. You have to find out how it all plays out. I loved this read and I love her new series. Thank you Cynthia for a really roller coaster of a read. 5* and I’d give you more if I could. less
