review 1: Whew! Another fabulous read from an equally fabulous author!!If you are looking for a great, hot & sexy story with “Others” in it – then look no further than to a Cynthia Eden story. Alpha Wolf Lucas Simone - who first appeared in Immortal Danger a time or two - now gets his own “tale”. He is your typical Alpha in that he is big, strong & dangerous which is of course what makes us all love him! He has only one weak spot – protecting those who need it (or at least seem to need it). Which brings us to Sarah King. She knows all about Lucas & is hoping that she can call upon his weak spot and get his protection and help. Of course, nothing is as it seems in a typical Cynthia Eden story, but of course that is what makes her stories so terrific! I have alway... mores been Team Vampire, but Cynthia has made me want to also be on Team Wolf! She has this knack for taking you on a great ride with at least one twist and/or a big surprise at the end. I love how creative she is in her “Others” world and how it flows through most of her stories regardless if they are related or not, meaning that all of her vampires, wolves, etc. pretty much follow the same history/traits/characteristics. After you read a couple of her books you will know what I mean. All in all, another drool worthy read!!!!
review 2: I don't know. I liked it, okay? I really did, but well, this is the 4th one in the series and I haven't read any of the others and I got really confused with some of the people, and I got lost in some of the betrayal and understanding people's reactions. Having said that, I liked the characters--most of them, Lucas was awesome, Jordan was great, Dane seems significantly haunted, Piers has some problems, love them all.Our girl Sarah pissed me off for a good portion of the book. She was a liar. she knew this. She kept telling me what a liar and betrayer she was. She told me not to trust her. So guess what? I didn't. And neither did anyone else. And guess what? She had the audacity to get pissed. I mean, why do liars act all indignant when people don't trust them?Anyhoosals, once we got over that, it was better, but then I got confused again (though that may be my fault as I did not start at the beginning of the series). I am interested enough in the other characters to want to read on and find out what happens, especially with Jordan and Dane. The sex was okay...not super hot and oftentimes it was at an awkward time I thought. Overall, I enjoyed. I've read other Cynthia Eden novels and enjoyed, I will continue to read from this author. less
