review 1: Well, this was disappointing... After reading Shooter I was really looking forward to Tex' story because I adored him in the first book. There he had a great personality, was funny and caring and I really wanted to see him finding and falling in love with a girl, who was into all the kinky stuff and his proclivities. Unfortunately, I didn't get that. Instead of an intriguing story with great characters I got one sex scene after another. I like me my smexy time, but this was ridiculous! 90% of the book were ALL sex. I know Abby had to be trained to being Tex' submissive, but it would have been nice to read about something other than sex. And as if that wouldn't have been enough, I didn't feel anything while reading those scenes because there was just no connection between T... moreex and Abby. There were no feelings, the interactions were cold and detached, like a business relation. I hate to say it, but after a while I was just skimming the sex scenes (which I NEVER do) - there were just too many. And don't get me started on the ending! As if at 90% the author began to notice that there wasn't happening anything in this story besides sex she came up with a very far-fetched story of Abby's past.
review 2: Well, Darn. This book was so different from the first book. Sigh.It doesn't get a low rating because of the rough BDSM, because there was a warning in the description. So I knew it would be out of my comfort zone. I don't understand the outrage I see on some reviews about Tex's treatment of Abby. Yes he was crude and mean but there was a big bold warning.I simply wished there had been more content to the story, the majority of it was the BDSM, which was alright, but I wanted a story line. I wouldn't classify this as a romance novel, more of an erotic story. less
