Infinity is the first book in the ‘The Infinity Division’ by Jus Accardo.
I saw this book at Chapters one day and was drawn in by that absolutely gorgeous cover. And then I read the back of the book and found out what it was about. Being uncertain that I would like the book or not, I decided to wait until my library had it so then I’d be able to read it without feeling like I wasted my own money, as that tends to happen. — I don’t normally go for the parallel universe type books anyway, so when I saw that the library did have the book, I was once again intrigued.
When I finally got around to reading Infinity, the story was both what I had expected it to be and nothing at all like I thought it would end up like.
Once I started reading the book, I thought that there’d be a definite love-triangle. Thankfully there isn’t. And we somewhat soon find out why.
The pace for this book is incredibly fast. I started reading this book one night, and before I knew it, I was on page 100…and then I was one page 200…and then I finished the book. I actually expected to mark this book as DNF. I did not expect to like Infinity as much as I did. Infinity takes us on quite the journey, if I do say so myself.
With that have been said, there’s a major downside to this book since –and I could be wrong here, but I don’t think I am– there aren’t any POC in this book. Even in passing scenes there wasn’t any mention of that many people either, for that matter.
I thought the ‘romance scenes’ –if you could call them that, they’re more like make-out scenes,– were alright. Nothing to be too excited over in my opinion, but they aren’t too shabby either. The romance has me irked though, since Cade is from another parallel, and in Kate’s original parallel, there shouldn’t be a Cade there.
I’ve got to say that the antagonist’s reason for revenge is complete garbage. I don’t want spoil anything, but I had to get that out.
I will say though, that in the beginning, I was enjoying the book. Really enjoying it, and almost right away I realized that if Kori was almost like me in her temperament and how she uses the English language. I also enjoyed what Kori did nearing the end of the book. I have got to say that sometime through the book I was expecting something like that to happen.
I ended up giving Infinity 2 of 5 stars on Goodreads.
