review 1: Excellent debut novel. have bought the following two books as a result. Really enjoyed it, quick easy to read. Got a bit lost with detail about climbing, not sure I understood the significance of E6, G7 etc but this doesn't really detract from the fact that it's an excellent read and I'm off now to read the next. Good well rounded characters who I hope will suitably develop. If a relationship does develop between Dixon and Winter I a, hope it's a slow burner and b, doesn't dominate the plot- that's so easy to do in my opinion and often ruins a fantastic story otherwise. This does have the feel as though it's deliberately being written with a view to a TV series-not necessarily a bad thing-If it does become a TV programme it's to be hoped that it isn't massacred in the sam... moree way Blue Lightning was
review 2: A Facebook friend posted about this book saying how much she enjoyed it so on her recommendation I downloaded it and have just finished reading it. I, like my friend on FB can say without a doubt that I really enjoyed it too. It was fast paced and there was no dilly dallying at all. All the climbing references were a bit like a foreign language to me as I know nothing about the sport whatsoever but it did not spoil my enjoyment of the story. I do like a good detective/crime/forensic story and I will definitely read this author again and will recommend his books to anyone. less
