review 1: More crazy adventures coming your way!Never Say Genius is the second book in The Genius Files series. It is even more exciting than the first book! I really liked the combination of fantasy and non-fiction. Twelve-year-old genius twins, Coke and Pepsi McDonald, continue having crazy adventures on their cross-country summer RV trip with their parents. At the beginning of this book, Coke and Pepsi celebrate their thirteenth birthdays in the RV. Their parents give them silly souvenirs that they picked up at the weird places they’ve visited. The story seems pretty normal, but then is gets crazy again when the people are chasing Coke and Pepsi and trying to kill them. Luckily, the silly birthday gifts are quite useful in saving Coke and Pepsi’s lives. A crazy bad guy name... mored Archie Clone is a new character in the story. He immediately lowers the twins into a vat of boiling oil! How crazy is that! Coke and Pepsi had to be alert, as their insane health teacher, Mrs. Higgins and the Bowler Hat Dudes reappear from the first book to go after them again! All of the dangerous things happen when the twins are away from their parents. My favorite part of the story is when Coke and Pepsi are captured in the Mr. Softee Ice Cream truck and face hypothermia. Also, I had lots of fun trying to figure out the puzzles and ciphers to see where bad things might happen next. Pepsi is very good at untangling the secret messages and codes. I often use her methods to figure out the answers, before I read on. This time the McDonald family stops to visit many more weird and exciting places on their adventure. Google map references are there to help the reader follow along to each stop on the map. I liked the real photographs of the places, since they made the story come alive. The very best part of the story is the final plot twist at the end. I was so surprised and I bet you will be, too! I give this book a 5 star rating. I highly recommend this book for children ages 7-12 and even parents would enjoy reading it, too!Review by Brooke Z., age 7, Delaware Valley Mensa
review 2: In the book "The genius Files" there are two kids named Coke and Pepsi Mcdonald. These kid were geniuses put in a program that they did not know about. The program got corrupted and all the kids in it will be chased down and die. The kids wanted to have a normal vacation in the summer going to a wedding. But the people kept finding them and kept trying to kill them but they are geniuses and are smart enough to get out of the traps they make. So they must do everything in there power to get rid of the people trying to kill them. Then they have a 25% chance of not dying. less
