review 1: Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for an honest review. The story line was interesting and original; Fangborn, Pandora's box, and history. However, there were points in the story that I got lost because it was all over the place and there were also parts where it just dragged on. The main character was annoying and whiny, I didn't really like her until she finally accepted herself but even then she was still annoying. Like come on you are part of a prophesy start acting like a bad ass and stop being dumb.
review 2: Seven Kinds of Hell had a different feel from the standard urban fantasy for me. It read more as a thriller will Zoe traveling around the world trying to find some figurines and Pandora's Box and people getting beat up, kidnapped and kille
... mored along the way. Foes become allies and Zoe finally finds out about what she is. The story made good use of her archaeology background too.Cameron also put her own spin on the Fangborn, where vampires are snake shifters with none of the limitations of standard vampires. Werewolves are compelled to fight evil. It's also stated that the Fangborn are ONLY good. Well, we know that CAN'T be true...right?!?A couple of other reviewers had issues with someone being abandoned by Zoe along the way. I had no problem with it. She's desperately trying to save her cousin and the kidnapper isn't giving her time to deal with anything else. When I requested this book from Netgalley (in exchange for my honest review) I also requested and received Pack of Strays which is book 2 in the series and immediately started it after I finished this one to find out where Zoe is going from here. less

A very good read. A little rough around the edges but I look forward to reading more in the series.

Good start of series. Annoyingly indecisive and weak heroine sometimes, but overall pretty good.
