review 1: This is the third volume from the first book that I have given this a five star rating. Why? The non-graphic novel A Game of Thrones I had given a five star rating because of the mass introduction it gives to the series--the characters, the places--how it sets apart from other fantasy books. There is just so much going on and becomes addictive. Now for the graphic novel it's the same thing but with visual aid. Luckily it still gives you the all you need to know of what the series is all about. I think the illustrations they've done are amazing as well. I'm not an anime person so I like this type much more. Looking forward to the last volume.
review 2: I just can't with this artwork anymore. This will be my last Game of Thrones graphic novel. This artist just
... moredraws the worst women I have ever seen. The story adaptation is fine, the coloring is fine, but this artist cannot draw a decent female. Ridiculous noses, constantly hard nipples (distracting to say the least) even on pregnant women and a lack of difference except for hair color. Blech. Usually sub par art might not completely deter me, but it is just too distracting. less
