review 1: Good stuff. Though the ending wasn't 'tied up with a nice little bow' (aka happy ending) I still liked it. It was cool that I got to have the author clarify what he meant by the ending (I was over complicating it - long story). I was going to read another book by the author and had even started it but after hearing his reading I realized that like the poet that visited with him, the stories were all very similar. Read one read them all. Like the book but won't read another one by this author again.
review 2: In the end I'm going with five stars for the absolute surprise ending. I think I'm pretty good at figuring out plots but this one threw me for a loop and in the end, I'm still not sure if I know the conclusion. A fabulous story of the young thespian, N
... moreelson, and a play within a play paying tribute to the Bard. A South American setting...beautiful, provincial, urban, decimated by war and recovering. I highly recommend this as a 'get out of your comfort zone' novel. less
