review 1: From reading the review, I was pretty sure that I would like the book and I wasn't disappointed. Told from the viewpoint of Mr Hyde, the story was engaging and well told. In fact, after finishing the book, I reread the original, and felt that the retelling was more compelling then the original classic. It fits in well into a series of books that I have really enjoyed including "The Minotaur Takes a Cigarette Break" by Steven Sherrill and "The Golem and the Jinni" by Helene Wecker.

Mr. Levine's work does wonders to fill in gaps and expand the story to a more enthralling modern view. Awesome read! less
