review 1: Disappointing. Bland writing about a young artist suffering myriad emotional issues thanks to a past featuring divorced parents and tumultuous relationships. I couldn't sympathize with the protagonist at all; most of her troubles stemmed from bad personal choices leading to melodrama and physical responses/defense mechanisms that didn't make sense. Occasionally I like ambiguous endings, but in this case, I continued reading only to find out which guy she'd wind up with -- the loving new guy she doesn't really deserve or the man with whom she shares a dark, destructive attraction and a terrible history -- so the joke was on me in the end.

I usually don't like flashbacks but this was completely different from anything I ever read and this author had perfect execution. The characters, all of them, were awesome. I can't say enough good things about this! Just Read it! less
