review 1: 3.75 rounded up because I love how Darien makes me tingle with the ST.Another cute hot read from Darien that I had fun reading. There's something about these stories that tickle my fancy. Love the will they/ won't they, love/hate situation and the ending might not come as a big surprise but its still nicely warm and fuzzy. Okay there is a case of insta love between these two fellas and the odd eye rolley moment when the misunderstandings arrive but that's what this ones all about, and once again, I didnt give a hoot because it was fun, hot, sexy and easy to read. Like it!
review 2: This is a definite case of insta-love, as in the space of days, so if that is bothersome to you, this isn’t the book for you. Told in the first person POV of Shawn, a production
... more assistant to Vivid Productions working a shoot in the Dominican Republic. He looks very young so has to always prove himself, but he’s professional and good at his job. He has a good reputation and so he is so confused and surprised to be treated with condescension, rudeness and disdain by one of the Dylan, one of the owners of Vivid. There is a lot missing from the story that would have contributed to a better understanding of what was going on with Dylan (particularly since we only get Shaun’s POV). His explanation for his actions just make him seem unprofessional and juvenile, since he doesn’t take it out on Rooney (the other owner) who is actually the person who would have been to blame had Dylan’s assumptions actually been correct. Then he is a see-saw of pull forward, push away, which may have been okay if they weren’t already professing love. Considering Dylan’s attitude about love due to his ex, this was too much. After five days, at least two of those spent with Dylan treating him like dirt, Shaun is in love and losing his mind when the ex, Michael, shows up. Dylan once again acts like an ass, ignoring Shaun as he goes to dinner with Michael. Had the time line been spread out more to encompass a longer period and included some back history (what did Michael do? How were they together? What was Shaun’s life prior to this?) it would have been a much more fulfilling read for me. less
