review 1: 3.5When I first started this one I wasn't sure, seemed like so much going on and I really don't like stories with bratty kids, but this one turned out pretty good for me. I ended up really likely Sassy and her snarky ways. Jay and Sassy were good together, he didn't take her crap and she responded to that. Brodie and Jay were perfect. My only issue with Brodie was he was supposed to be a badass and he just didn't come across to me as one, but I still liked him. I could have done without Eben.
review 2: Loved it. Definitely on my 'must read' list.Jay and Brodie were perfect. Just the right mix of dark and light. Their chemistry was pretty sizzling, but the author didn't throw them into the sack every 5 pages just to make the book longer. (That's one o
... moref my biggest pet peeves.)The supporting characters, including Sassy and Jay's mother, were well written and rounded out the story nicely -- although I would have probably throttled Sassy, if I'd have been Brodie. And the whole 'blackmail' plot added to the drama in the book, without becoming cumbersome, along with the 'Sassy goes missing' end to the drama adding a nice twist. The epilogue last chapter of the book was a little cheesy, but not in a bad way. Bring on the Velveeta, champagne & roses! The book was also VERY well edited. I'm not sure when was the last time that I read a book without a single spelling or gramatical error, but it was a nice change. (Yep, another pet peeve.) : )5 stars. less
