review 1: Since I finished reading the book a good many years after it was first published, it is now apparent that a good bit of the advice provided has not stood the test of time and may even be harmful (to provide one example - almost no experts currently advocate for a switch to bio diesel). The tips that are useful are very generic, and are pretty much common sense (for example - don't drive as much. Turn your utilities down in the winter and up in the summer). This book would have been more useful if it had focused on providing information and advice that was at least a step beyond the realm of common sense. This is not a "terrible" book, but there are likely much better other books out there on the subject of saving money through being environmentally frie... morendly.
review 2: This was a great book for starting you thinking about all the ways you can "go green." The book is divided into sections of ways to go green - energy, driving, water usage, shopping, recycling, etc. Within each section, the author gives several suggestions for things to start doing (or stop doing). I love that he has "Go Green Action Steps" at the end of each section with very specific things you can do. This book does not go in-depth into the ideas; rather, it gives 50 different ideas and enough info to get you started. And I love that he says to just pick a couple things to get started with - any one thing makes a difference! less
