review 1: While this book was very different from anything I've ever read before, it was an entertaining read that I couldn't put down; however, the story got more absurd as it went on...did Jonathan really think they had a chance?? And the ending is unsatisfying and leaves the reader feeling divided on whether to be happy or sad for Melody. Yes, she got her life back, but she's still living a lie and doesn't have her real identity AND all she did was trade places with Jonathan in the end. Now HE lives a life that's horrible...and she's still living a lie...and now she will never find love because she'll never find someone as good as him. It's kind of sad actually, she went through all the events in this story and had a few days of being herself, only to have it ripped from her so s... moreuddenly. I guess I'm a dreamer who wants a happy ending where she keeps her name, lives with her love, and escapes the bad guys. Would have given the book a four if it weren't for the ending though, so it was a good read.
review 2: I really liked the first half of the book---quick moving, etc. But then it started to be a bit unbelievable. Who would desert the Feds and go with a known guy from the mob family who killed your parents? The most redeeming quality was it gave a lot of insight into the problems people face who do go into the Witness Protection Plan. It must be awful to always be looking over your shoulder and never being able to be completely honest with people you meet and make friends with. less
