review 1: I am catching up on Goodreads and noticed that I hadn't rated this book yet. Probably about three books later. To be perfectly honest I had forgotten that I had even read the book and didn't remember the storyline until I read the little blurb. While reading the book however, I did feel that it was much along the same lines as 'Night Mother' which came out as a movie in the 1970s with Sissy Spacek and Anne Bancroft. Now 'Night Mother' I remember!
review 2: The beginning of this book starts off with the recounting of what happened to David Gilmour's half sister. It is all true and was the impetus for the rest of the novel. It is a very quick read and I found it to be short but very satisfying. His half sister asks her brother to help her commit suicide sinc
... moree she is a paraplegic and doesn't want to go on any more. The book takes place over an evening and early morning and it is all a conversation talking about their lives...the ups and downs...her children, their shared mother...all we need to say to each other before we go on to the unknown..the time we all wish we had had to say goodbye to someone and to tell them how much we loved them. less
