review 1: I first read David Sedaris when I was 16, and I kind of feel like I've grown up with him and followed him from Chicago, to New York, to France and now the UK. This book definitely touches on his physical failings as a man over 50 (see: the final essay about getting a colonoscopy) but he's as snarky and funny and out of left field as ever. And for real, I think his father just might live to be 200!
review 2: David Sedaris is *always* funny, and I enjoy reading his books even more after having listened to him read some of his essays on CD... hearing his voice in the book is even more entertaining. This was another funny and enjoyable read. I must admit, I didn't care for the 'etc.' as much (the few pieces in this book that were written in another's voice)... but ... moreall in all it was entertaining as usual. less
