review 1: 3.5 stars rounded up to 4. This is a really sweet and hopeful story. I really liked Oscar and Curt together. Curt has stayed away for three years after his family did not take his coming out very well. So he moved from Minneapolis to San Diego and hasn't seen his family in all that time. Of course he comes home to a horrific snow storm and he skids off the road. Luckly for him (and some amazing yellow boxers) he is rescued by Oscar - who is also visiting to take care of his grandmother's place and get it ready for sale. He happens along the road and finds Curt and takes him home to his grandma's house saving him most likely from a bad case of frostbite at the very least. Curt's family is grateful that Oscar has saved Curt and invites him to Christmas. Coincidental... morely, Oscar also lives in the San Diego area and is gay! And he likes Curt! And his family was not happy about his coming out either! Very sweet reunion with Curt and his parents who have come around int he three years that Curt has been away. Just lovely scenes with the parents. Happy ending and story infused with the holiday spirit.
review 2: This was an adorably cute story. It's about Curt getting stuck in a snowstorm on his way to visiting his family and Oscar coming to his rescue. It's about family understanding and forgiveness, making up for lost time and finding someone special when you least expect it. It's a very nice, sweet story and I loved the fact that Curt and Oscar essentially go through the same things with their parents but that there's hope Oscar's family will come around since Curt's family did after their falling out.I loved the story because it's a simple, classic Christmas story with spurts of funny moments and that is exactly what I needed. less
