review 1: 4-4.5 stars. Gritty and gripping MC story about Jenna and Kidd's relationship. Jenna was a teenager when she came to the Renegade Sons MC, brought in by Chipper, who rescued her from further abuse. Kidd, who is Chipper's brother and future President of the MC, forms a close friendship with Jenna although he definitely wants her, but not yet, because of her age. The feeling is mutual with Jenna. The first half of the book is about Jenna growing up and overcoming her past because she's been dealt a pretty bad hand before, but now has the love and support of Chipper and Mindy, her new parents. The bond between Mindy and Jenna is really beautiful, like that of a real mother and daughter who are also best friends. Kidd has his opportunity to claim Jenna as his but then tragedy ... morestrikes and he pushes Jenna away, scarring her deeply. Jenna decides to become a club whore so she belongs to no one and refuses to let Kidd back into her life so they exist at the same MC for the next 6 years ignoring each other. I genuinely liked Kidd, he's an alpha and he's a reasonable guy overall, he really loved Jenna but acted like a douche and forced her to keep her distance so she wouldn't get hurt again. I loved Jenna for the most part, but there were times in the second half where I wasn't sure I was reading about the same girl even though I knew she had changed over time. I liked her new frosty, no-nonsense personality but sometimes it seemed as though she behaved a little out of character especially when it came to Kidd. Their story is tumultuous, but both Kidd and Jenna learned from their mistakes in order to be the one for the other person.
review 2: I would give this one a - Good... I just thought it was a bit too long & it could have gotten to the point a lot quicker. Kidd is a cutie. Jenna is some one that annoyed me continuously through out the book.I understand that you went through something terrible and Kidd made a mistake, but come on... It doesn't take that long to get over it. Any way, yeah, I would recommend it. Happy Goodreads! less
