review 1: This was a wonderful read. I've never been to Washington state before and this book took me there. This book revolves around a group of four guys and one girl who hang out together at college. They party, go camping and even have some classes together. As with all groups like this, there is a little romance that goes along with it. While their story is being laid out another story is being seamlessly woven in - a story of brutal murder and revenge. There is not a lot of action in this book but it has a way of getting into your head and you feel as if you are on the camping and fishing trips these guys go on. I kind of suspected the ending but was still shocked when I got there. This is a wonderful book and this author should keep on putting out great work like ... morethis.
review 2: This book was $0.99 on Amazon when I got it. The Amazon reviews gave the impression that it was an exciting page turner, but it took me three weeks to read it. By the time I realized it was going nowhere, I was already in too deep. I couldn't stand the main character, Riddley, but I kept reading to see what happened to Chapman because he was the only character i liked. To my knowledge the book never explained why the cop, Marshall, went into these dissociative fugues or whatever. But I just skimmed through the parts that involved the cops because I thought they were stupid and boring – so I could have missed an explanation of Marshall's history. Wish I hadn't wasted my time with this "story." less

Way to many loose ends at the end. Never tells how they are all connected.
