review 1: Really and truly awful. However, it has earned itself an extra star by occasionally crossing the so-bad-it's-funny line. Pros: Awesome lines like "She was upset because although people had disliked her before, no one had ever disliked her enough to try to kill her!" This book certainly delivered on corniness.Cons: The plot was asinine. The characters were just asses. (Seriously, they would switch from fighting to being in love at least 3 times a minute, and since I was listening to this in the car while on a road trip, it was difficult to pay enough attention to remember which they were at any given moment. All of the emotional manipulation was confusing.) Plus, the actress who read the audiobook was one of the worst book-readers ever (straight-up backwards stuff, reading ... morethings like "'All right,' she said calmly" in an angry, loud voice). Overall: You probably shouldn't read or listen to this. It's not consistently so-bad-it's-funny, so it's mostly just a waste of time.
review 2: Debbie is one of my favorite authors! This book is such a light read which I enjoyed so much. This book has 2 stories in one: A Jury of His Peers is about a lady, Caroline Lomax, who is selected for jury duty. However, she meets Tom Thomasson whose shes known since they where teens. Any Sunday is about Marjorie Majors who had avoided doctors all her life until she has a weird pain on her side, turns out she has appendicitis. Her doctor, Dr. Sam, is with her throughout everything. They both end up falling for each other and he stops being her doctor. I'd admit it's a bit cheesy but who doesn't need cheese in their lives? I would recommend these stories to anyone who wants to read about romance hahaha :) less
