review 1: The Summer We Came To Life is a difficult book to describe. It's a novel that's about loss, love, friendships, family, and the mysteries of death. However, it's so much more than that...Ms. Cloyed has written a touching story of what was, what is, and what could be. A reminder that we each can affect so many others with our words, deeds, and feelings. I enjoyed the vignettes of the past woven through the present and future scenes.
review 2: This book was the first one I read on my Kindle and were it not for the novelty of reading a book electronically, I probably would have put it down long before it ended. The story about four friends (one deceased)is part physics lesson too. The author jumps back and forth between the past and present as well as the here an... mored now and the afterlife. While I was curious to find out how the book ended (maybe wanting to tell myself that it finally got "good" and was worth the time I had invested in it, I never really developed a relationship with any of the characters. less
