review 1: A retired actor is bequeathed a run down B&B in a tiny Welsh village and abandons London to make a go of it. Three times divorced, he decides to offer residential, practical courses targeting the newly divorced or separated, who find themselves unable to do things their previous partners had always taken care of. It is not a challenging read but I found it rather charming and certainly amusing, if a little predictable.
review 2: Not really my kind of thing, but mildly diverting. The story is about a retired actor, Buffy, who inherits a decrepit country house and decides to make it into a hotel. However, he has no idea about how to make a hotel make money, and hits on the idea of running a series of courses (for divorcees), which inevitably end up with various c... moreharacters coupling up. It's all done with a very light and affectionate touch, but there are too many characters for you to really keep up with and care about. less
