review 1: After reading the first two books I was almost too intimidated to read this last one, as I knew Alex and Valeria had so much more to endure before they could finally be at peace; namely facing the wicked Jeremiah and lunatic Kristiana. I knew Ms. Colvin would not disappoint with a "happily ever after" (yes, I am a H.E.A. kind of girl), but I was so engrossed with her characters that I wasn't sure I could endure reading through their trials to get to the finale! This is the kind of book I like to read, but am afraid to read at the same time because, 1. I don't like to see a series come to an end, especially when I have become invested in the characters, and 2. I can hardly put the book down, but know I have to so I can get to work on time! Ms. Colvin is wonderful at pai... morenting landscapes and settings that really draw you in to the story and then she fills those settings with dynamic characters that you can't help but 'fall in love' with them. The romance between Valeria and Alex is so moving, it sets the standard of what "true love" should be. The supporting characters, Caleb, Mani, Lars, Ava, Camille, Paolo, Daphne, and Tavish all endear themselves to you. Without giving away the plot, I was please to see some H.E.A.'s for these characters too, especially Mani, Camille, and Paolo. There is a bit of cursing (mostly from Tavish) which wasn't necessary to the story, but seems to define this colorful character from Scotland. I had to wait till the very end to have my H.E.A as the story kept you guessing to the very last chapters. If you enjoy a good romance, Greek mythology, exotic landscapes and interesting characters this is the "good read" for you!
review 2: This is certainly the masterpiece of the trilogy. I felt the emotions of the characters and the love that was poured into this story. Mrs. Colvin does a wonderful job at shaping her characters and develops them in a way that helps you feel as if you really KNOW them. The brilliant part of her writing is that even though you may know the characters, Mrs.Colvin also leaves room for you to let your imagination take you on the journey with them. The details were just enough to keep you guessing right up until the end. I also love the fact that Mrs. Colvin did not take away the mystery in the love scenes in the way many authors do. I felt that I was there with the characters throughout each experience. I will miss Alex and Valeria, but after 3000 years they deserve nothing more than what Mrs. Colvin gave them. less
