review 1: I've never been a big fan of short stories but I've started to really enjoy reading lately. Strokes is a collection of seven stories that the author says are intended to be read as bedtime stories. A week's worth of naughty bedtime reading. The stories were well written, satisfying reads. I really enjoyed, "Dr. Mullaley's Cure" which is a steampunk story with some very interesting inventions. "The Morning Ride" was also an interesting sweet story about 2 commuters who fantasize about one another. These stories were great and although they were meant to be read over a week's time, I cheated and ended up reading all seven stories in 2 nights.
review 2: Strokes is a collection of some of Delilah Devlin's short stories--intended to be some light bedtime or any-time... more-you-need-a-heatrush reading, each one is a delicious bit to savor, like a choice chocolate from a deluxe variety box. Each story is a treat, well-written, captivating and arousing as well as great storytelling. As with a box of temptation, the trick will be to stop with just one! The couples and settings give us a peek at different times and circumstances and places, but all of them definitely satisfy!Lily's Last Stand Lily's husband Brent has been working extra long hours and Lily decides it's time he remembered who he's left at home... Short and sweet and hot all wrapped up in one--it's a pleasure to see Lily's risk-taking pay off for them both as this quick, naughty interlude gives them more than they expected. Nip `n' Tuck A seamstress arranges a "quickie" with an on-line friend. She's tired of all she's missed being by herself, without a partner, and seizes the chance to live out a few of her favorite fantasies with someone who's agreed to assist. That boldness pays off for her in spades.Dreaming by the Sea A reclusive writer meets a gorgeous man by the sea. She's been satisfied with her writing and her solitary life, but this chance meeting completely changes her life as she knows it.Dr. Mullaley's Cure Nurse Percy isn't sure what to expect with her new employer, Dr. Mullaley--she's at the end of her rope though, and decides that employment is better than starving any day. As she finds appointments for the endless stream of desperate women lining up for Dr. Mullaley's efficacious if unusual treatments, the doctor decides she might benefit from some first-person knowledge of these special treatments for "nerves."
