review 1: 3.5 stars. Good, entertaining book, though there were some parts that were kinda sillishly unbelievable. Too many times I felt like I was sitting in the theatre watching one of those dumb horror movies where the victim does some stupid thing and you're screaming in your head, 'no! don't go in there...stupid girl....In this book, the main character Bronwyn, was constantly running off by herself when there were people trying to kill her. I would get so frustrated with her stupidity - and it happened far too often!Otherwise a good book - one I would not have quit reading and I don't usually have a problem with that if I am not into a book. Won't waste my time. This wasn't a waste of time, it just had minor problems. I would certainly read more by Denise Daisy and would ... morecertainly continue on with the Moonshine series. I have already purchased the next book, Haytham, which was incredibly priced at 99 cents. These authors are the reason I have come to love indie books. Totally decent writing and if I can't get it at the library, it had better be cheap. I feel like the authors who offer their books for 99 cents are the real deal -doing what they love to get read and become a 'name'. At that point I can still be cheap and get their work at the library and they can charge big along with other established authors.
review 2: Two and a half to three stars.I like the premise - it's unique, to me anyway; I haven't read anything quite like it. What I have trouble with are the grammatical errors. I can't get past them; one or two I can forgive but this e-book is riddled with them. Also, in my opinion, Denise Daisy's writing style is unnecessarily wordy - to me, coffee is coffee, even if you have to say it twice in one sentence; there's no need to substitute it with the words, 'hot liquid'.I was disappointed to discover it was the first book in a series rather than a stand-alone novel - I thought it could easily have been a single novel - so I'm undecided whether I'll continue with the series. less
