review 1: I read this at the recommendation of someone that said this book was a better written "Ready Player One". Unfortunately I can not agree with that assessment. The writing was OK but the story isn't too similar to Cline's novel. It seems the virtual reality world is almost a background element to this book. It is more about corporate espionage in the digital age. It is missing the identifiable hero. And the ending (last two chapters) is disappointing and takes a big 180.
review 2: Fun and light, with some cool technology thrown in for good measure. Some nice metaphors -- but the good guys are way,way too good, and the bad guys are way too bad. I'm not looking for "50 shades of grey" from all characters, but a bit more dimensionality would have worked better
... more for me. Still, very much worth a read because I think the next book is going to let us see a bit deeper into what makes the lead characters tick -- and, did I mention the cool technology! less

Reminded me of the old Dream Park books.

Meh kind of anticlimactic.
