review 1: I enjoyed the latest book in the Runes series and learning more about Norse mythology and the impacts that it has had on Raine's life. In this book, Raine is getting stronger and learning more about her powers and who she is. Her and Torin are closer than ever despite the new threat that tries to tear them apart. We discover more about Torin's past and what has shaped him and come closer to understanding the Norn's grand scheme. The book has lots of action and is fast-paced.I have to admit to being a little frustrated with Raine. She is so stubborn and takes unnecessary risks just because someone told her not to. I know her heart is in the right place but she does need to think before she acts. And keeping secrets from Torin is stupid. He loves her, wants to help h... moreer and protect her. Not letting him in shows a distinct immaturity in my opinion. I found myself sometimes wondering how Torin could deal with her. Obviously, he's done a lot of living and the way he puts up with Raine's childishness is admirable. However, I think she could use a serious reality check. The secondary characters added depth to the story and have me looking forward to more to come from them (I hope). Now onto Souls and more from Echo and Cora.
review 2: This book is a fast paced and fun read that will keep you reading through the night. I love the Runes series and have enjoyed every book in the series so far. The covers are lovely and the righting is true to life, even with the magical storylines. Ednah has a real knack for writing romances and her female characters are always a joy to read. She writes spunky and awesome leading ladies but her main men are class acts too. There is no other series like the Runes series that I have found. Every character in the series has a great part in the story and the entire world is written so well. So creative! I thought that the way that all of the different magical people in town interact was genius. I highly recommend Seeress and the rest of the Runes series if you have not read it yet. I can't wait to see what Ednah has coming out next! I have read all of her works and I love them all. Her YA and adult books are all wonderful. less
