review 1: After Greer gets caught shoplifting one too many times, she is shipped away to McCracken Hill Academy, a pricey rehab for troubled teens. There Greer meets Addison, a recovering alcoholic with anger issues and tumbles helplessly and hopelessly in love. Through Addison, Greer meets Joshua, one of the creepiest predators I've ever encountered in a book. Joshua is a psychic vampire, feeding on damaged children and sapping their confidence. Greer dislikes and distrusts him, but he is Addison's sponsor, mentor and hero. All roads to Addison lead through Joshua, so Greer must swallow her misgivings and fears and play Joshua's twisted "believing game". This book has atmosphere. There is such intensity and menace that it made me feel edgy and uncomfortable. The descriptions of lif... moree in a rehab facility and the difficulties of the long road to recovery felt realistic. A well done psychological thriller.
review 2: At first I thought that this book was going to be like Dark Eden or Variant. It sort of was like them, except it was way weirder. I mean Militant Vegans, that's random, but descrptive. I don't know, I gave it threes stars because I liked Greer's point of view for the most part, and I liked I wanted to finish it fast, but besides that, the plot was kind of weird and some transitions were choppy. I'd honestly recommend this book to thriller lovers and older teens (because of the sex stuff). This book wasn't bad, but I personally think that it could have been clearer and better delivered. less

It kept me on my toes the whole time, it started slow but the ending was VERY worth it.
