I made a point of stopping by to try Iron Born while visiting the strip a few Saturdays ago…and I am still thinking about this pizza.
Of their 9 pizza options, I chose the Red Pie, basically their most “basic” option. I’d like to get back and try their White Pizza and Philly Cheese Steak Pie ASAP. Iron Born is Detroit-style pizza, cooked in a cast iron pan, which means the crust is perfectly crispy on its outer layer but soft and chewy on the inside.
The cheese was cooked right on top of the dough, and the thick, flavorful sauce was poured on later in the process. The ‘ronis were crunchy and spicy. Iron Born pies are worth the price ($15-$18), and if you have the option, I’d recommend getting a few and sharing with friends so that you can try as many as possible.
