review 1: I am just less than half done with the book and giving up. It is not holding my attention and I find myself getting angry at the characters. The plot is very contrived. Seems like a bad sitcom with a lot of yelling and angst. I took it out of the library after finishing and enjoying "And Then I Found Her." I will try other books by this author, but returning this one unfinished. Does not pass the test of "Read anything, as long as you can't wait to pick it up again."
review 2: This was the perfect book to start off the summer - thank you to my husband who surprised me with a beach bag filled with summer fun, including this witty new novel by Lipman. A comic tale of two sisters who are trying to piece their lives back together, one from widowhood, the oth... moreer from having been betrayed - twice - by men. While that may not sound funny, this little gem of a book had high brow humor running throughout, and as a mindful yet mindless read, this is an excellent pastime kind of book while still being clever. less
