We are faced with many issues in today’s world, and as informed as we would like to think we are, we all still have a lot to learn. I can’t emphasize enough just how important this Human Trafficking and Foster Care System Community Awareness Event is, especially if you are a parent, grandparent or a child’s guardian. We hear a lot about slavery of the past, but most people do not understand that slavery still exists. We just call it something else now……..Human Trafficking. This isn’t something that only happens other places. It is happening right under our noses in Mississippi, and it impacts children as young as 10-12 years old. Jody Dyess is part of Mississippi’s Human Trafficking Task Force. Join us and hear him discuss this crisis in our country and state.
Next on the agenda, attendees will be learning about the foster care system in our state, the struggles and ways we can help make it better.
