review 1: I have read books 1 and 3 of the Naughton's Stolen series and this one is by far the best. There were actual twists and turns in the plot. Even some suspense. Not so much soft core porn as in her other books so if you are here for the lovin' and not the actual story than try the other books in the series. Don't get me wrong, there is still a gushy romance between Pete and Kat but this novel deals more with the mystery. Pete thinks Kat was killed in a car wreck in Eygpt six years ago until he sees a woman that looks just like Kat at his auction of antiques, many of which were Egyptian antiques that he "appropriated" in Egypt in ways that weren't exactly legal. At the auction two thugs are set on killing Pete when Kat steps in. Why are these guys after Pete? Why has ... moreKat been presumed dead for six years? Does this have anything to do with the Egyptian relics Kat was excavating when she disappeared or the ones Pete got his hands on?Good story that moves right along. Not crazy about the ending but still nice job Ms. Naughton.
review 2: I enjoyed the book but it wasn't one of my favorites. I didn't much care for the male lead, Peter Kauffman. Kat had every reason to mistrust him so his anger at her really annoyed me. His acting like he was the one wronged was totally backwards in my mind. Katherine Meyer, or Kat, was a bit of a wishy-washy character. There was absolutely no reason for her to feel guilty about what she had done. I'm glad I read this book, but I wouldn't look for another like it. less
