review 1: A lovely little book with some beautiful writing. Began to feel a bit padded in the second half, and Bailey's attempts to link the snail's life to her illness methodically sometimes felt forced. People who are more patient than me may think differently about these things. Any flaws aside, this book will make you fall in love with a snail, and it takes a careful observer with a lively mind to accomplish that.
review 2: Such a slight book, yet so deep and beautiful. Read as I lay compressed into bed by gravity and an as-yet-undetermined malady, this book was as satisfying as water from a snow-fed spring.
