review 1: Wow, this book was hilarious and fun! Cara was a great role model for any girl who wants to be "popular," and the plot was great. You know, new girl at school, who gets some geeky friends, then the queen bees let her in the group, she gets all the inside deets, dates the best guy, but realize that the better life is back where she started, with her drama friends, then dates her close guy geeky friend, and they all lived happily ever after! That's exactly what happened. No! I'm not complaining, but Allen, if you added a twist, then this book would be a five star rating for moi, and I don't think that I'm the only one who agrees with this. A great book, but predictable.
review 2: I have to say, I was about ready to give a really bad review at about 50 or so pages
... more to the end of the book. Not so much as a reflection on the writing probably (really, books have to be somewhat realistic), but there was just maybe 50 pages, maybe more, in which the mindset of the main character was just horribly irking! You could track her progress on the whole she was digging for herself. And then, naturally, you have to read about the horrible mess she's stranded in, and that just makes me super upset and mad with her and mad with the people who won't give her a break, so it's not like that makes me happy. However, I think the ending redeemed it some. If it weren't for the ending, I would probably hate this book. And, though there were some clear predictions I had early on - I mean, come on, most girls have at least read one of those popularity in high school books and the plot in this is classic - that mainly came true, there were a lot of twists in the ending that I either didn't expect to happen in that specific way or didn't think would happen at all. less

Have you realized that this book's plot line is a lot like the mean girl's plot line?
