review 1: I can be a sucker for reunion stories, and this one is definitely one of my more recent favourites. I really enjoyed this book and the characters. Isabelle was great when she was either bantering with Marshall or taking him to task. I liked Marshall well enough, but Isabelle? Liked her so much more. Lily and Naomi, too! All three of these women were fantastic in the novel so I especially enjoyed that. I also liked that subplots weren't dragged out for a lengthy period.I wasn't very fond of the Thomas Gerald subplot at first (or during...or near the end of it), but I ended up liking it a lot more afterwards because of how it played into decisions. I thought it was going to be a throwaway ploy just to get the two protagonists closer...so I'm glad it had a more solid ... morereason for being implemented.
review 2: I liked the concept of the story line itself; divorce in Regency. It's the 1st book I've read to cover this topic. But there were so many times in the story where I felt the author could have better developed the characters or writing. There were instances where the author repeated things from the beginning of the book as if we the readers hadn't read that part. It could have been a great story, but it really fell short. less
