Trinkets and Gifts

We all know that you will think of home at some point during your trip. There’s no better way to show someone at home you were thinking of them than getting them a gift from your time abroad. Almost every location you go to will have their own unique items that represent their countries, and it will be up to you on what you get. There are some important things to keep in mind however:

  • Will you be able to pack it home?
  • Is it going to affect your budget too much?
  • Will they actually like it or are you just getting them something?
  • Is it fragile? Should you ship it home?

These are a few questions I have come across when shopping for my family’s Christmas presents while in Dublin. There is no right way to do this, so it is up to your personal decision on what you get, and how you get it home.

Small trinkets are easy to take home and easy to find!

If you want to ship something home, be aware of the cost, especially when it is associated with the gift’s weight. If you can pack it in a checked bag, that is what I found to be the best possible option. Happy shopping!
