review 1: This book is full of profanity. My 12 year old daughter picked it to read for school and after the first chapter said she didn't want to read it because it had lots of swear words. I decided to read a bit and it is full of profanity. I stopped in chapter 3 when the F word was used. It's sad that authors feel they need to use that type of language to make their book good. Please use your extensive vocabulary to throw out words that convey the same message but don't have the vulgarity. This book is categorized for young adults/teens if it were a movie the rating would have been R.
review 2: I absolutely loved this book. The only problems I have with this book was that it made no sense for Syrenka to give up her baby just because she was afraid Ezra may not love ... moreher or whatever. If he didn't love her because she was raped then fuck him. Also I felt uncomfortable with the whole Hester and Ezra loving each other thing. Although it was cool that Syrenka's soul was passed on from generation to generation it still creeped me out. Although Hester isn't actually related to Ezra by blood, he is still her great-great-great grandfather. But regardless I found the book to be amazing, and I couldn't put it down. less
