review 1: No Fking Way.......extreme violencesick,twisted,horrifyingly RAPETORTURECHILD ABUSEGRAPHIC SCENES straight out of a nightmare I would never want to rememberhow the hell am I going to get this horrible sstuff out of my head....I just cant belive people really like reading this kind of stuffAll I wanted was a nice biker bookrough life...okalpha maleangst good ok sad parts ...okerotic....okHEA.....yes........yesss.....a reason for the story, or a morale of the story....or is to much to ask for revenge for the poor girl in this story?I need a shot of tequila and a valium...And I don't ever want to talk about it again.
review 2: I do not take one star ratings lightly, not at all. But i believe this one earned it. I will start by saying, i picked this book up aware ... moreof the plagiarism accusations, though i have never read the other book by Ms. Jewel. I also do not take those accusations lightly at all. I have no opinion one way or the other on that topic, it was just how i was first introduced to this author.My low rating came from the book itself, the editing is a nightmare, half the time she uses the wrongs name for her characters. Like at one point she is supposed to be referring to Toby and calls him Liam, this happens a few times. And i am very forgiving as far as typos but this was SOOOO much. (Spoilers ahead.)Then there were my issues with the story itself. Let's start with, he i like my smut as much as the next girl, but good grief, who F&*$# that much. That is ALL her and Cole do, like ever. On the side of the road, in the bath, on the table, on the bed, at the compound, in the shower. IN THE BUNKER WITH HER DAD WAITING OUTSIDE TO TALK ABOUT A LIFE OR DEATH SITUATION!!! After she was gang raped and then almost raped again. Of course after that trauma, and then the guy who has been abusing you for years gets his throat slit on top of you, yep that’s a real turn on. I was just sexually assaulted by three different men and drugged, but hot damn babe let’s get in the shower and get freak nasty! My god, i imagine she is one sore woman lol! Now at the end, I wanted to cut that b!#&^, omg, how stupid do have to be? An why did her mother not punch her in the face for not freaking listening???Now there were some redeeming qualities, her parents, I loved them. And I loved Cole too! I did enjoy for the most part the world she built after she gets to the club house. I liked the family atmosphere. I do think this book had 4 or 5 star potential. IF it had been executed properly. I could have loved Cole and Maddie, I actually almost did. Almost. But Maddie killed it. Now for the most part, I think Ms. Stone handled the Maddie’s reactions to things fairly realistically. Until the last half.In saying all this I will change the book to a two star, because there were somethings I did enjoy. less
