review 1: Omg I just finished the best mafia based book I have read in a hot minute.from start to finish Sebastiano and Sierra had me mesmerized with their fiery passion and the need to be what the other needed was very addicting.Once you start this book be prepared to ignore all things in your life and become part of this spectacular story.Sebastiano is the uber alpha male of this story and is the Don of all Dons.He is 45 and is afraid of nothing or no one and after his experience with a loser ex-wife has women in his life for his more base needs and he tosses them out when he uses them. The only permanent woman he has in his life is his darling daughter Lorena. But suddenly an angel is thrown into the mix and Sebastiano's life will never be the same again.Sierra is our not so meek ... moreand mild heroine and she has come to meet the one and only Don Sebastiano after her brother made a bad decision and she feels that maybe she can persuade the Don to allow her to repay her brothers debts doing business related tasks. Those thoughts soon fly out of her head once she lays eyes on him in person and in a split second she knows that she is willing to do whatever Sebastiano wants of her.The chemistry between these two characters burn up the pages and keep you addicted all the way to the end.The love and security Sierra gives to Sebastiano makes you love her more and more as this story progresses and you soon realise that Sebastiano is better with show than tell when it comes to matters of the heart. There is a scene or two that I must warn you is graphic in nature but remember as you read them this is the mafia we are dealing with and the mafia isnt about to just give you a slap on the wrist when you have done wrong.Even though these scenes were graphic I found myself cheering Sebastiano on as I totally agreed with what he was doing. There wasnt anything about this book I disliked.Front to back, first word to the last this book was phenomenal and a perfect start to a kickass new series.I want to thank the authors for the opportunity to read this book and provide my review for honest opinion.5 solid gold stars
review 2: 3.75 STARSI dropped 3 consecutive novels (Alex, Desire, Restoring Jordan) before reading The Don. There's just something about those novels that didn't really fit my taste... they were either boring, too cheezy, didn't like the story flow or the dirty words were just...dirty... in a bad way. The novel was quite catchy from the very start, I could feel that it was different and I do like the writing style. I don't really have anything negative to say about the novel, it was good and I was satisfied. I like how it started and I love how it ended. less
