Watersmeet
review 1: Watersmeet is a fantasy novel about a young woman named Abisina, who begins her life as an outcast in her village. The story follows her as she flees the village to save her life from the evil Charach. Most of the novel is about her gradual character development, leading to ultimate courage and bravery in the end. This is the second fantasy novel I have read recently. While I am not a diehard fantasy fan, I have definitely enjoyed this book, and look forward to more from Abbott.
review 2: Abisinia is dark-haired in a society that only accepts light-haired people. She is allowed to exist because her mother is the healer. But when a mythic leader comes to the town he calls for the banishment of all "outcasts." Abisinia's mother sends her to find her father. Along
... more the way she encounters Haret and his mother, two dwarves living in a cave. After convincing them that she is not an enemy, they agree to help her reach her destination.A good story overall, but it could have been half the length. less

A nice fantasy book. Fauns, centaurs, dwarves, etc. An “accept everybody” message.

It was a great read and I can barley wait to read the rest of the series.

Interesting idea and story - but the plot dragged in spots.
