review 1: Ellie Campbell brings us into the relationships of four women who were teenage friends and are coming together after twelve years without any communication. She reveals for the reader the struggles, secrets and compassion each has for the others as they have come together as women under uncertain circumstances.Jennifer, Georgina, Rowan and Nutmeg became friends at school mostly because they were being picked on as new students and formed a strong bond. They were all different in their own ways but melded together as a force to be reckoned with. After a prank that got out of hand they all take different paths in life and go their separate ways.Twelve years later they are summoned together at the request of Rowan and everyone shows up except Rowan. Being brought together at ... moreher request the others begin on a quest to find Rowan and uncover secrets and feelings that must be dealt with on the way.The characters are brought to life and might remind some of us of relationships we had in school. They all have their own secrets but struggle to find a balance as a group. As I was reading I could feel at times great compassion for them as well as disgust for them. The writing is powerful as you are privy to the balance it sometimes takes to keep relationships together and working thru the differences.I enjoyed this book and felt as if I was a fly on the wall as these four women come to terms with their lives as well as with each other.
review 2: I won this through good reads first reads.I was intrigued by the idea of a romantic/chick lit type easy read crossed with a mystery and I wasn't disappointed. Most of this book does feel like a normal 'what's happening in these stereotypical women's lives, who's sacrificed family for career, who's love life is or isn't working' chick lit fluffy novel, but the extra element of finding out what's happened to the friend who didn't turn up when she arranged to meet them all makes this book stand out from other stories in the genre.I would say that it felt slightly disjointed at times, hopping between time periods when characters were remembering things and also between different characters points of view. My other criticism would be the amazingly stereotyped women, and men for that matter, who always do what you think they'll do, because they are that much of a stereotype there aren't many suprises in their actions!Overall the storyline was fun, and makes up for the slight criticisms above, so a solid 4 stars. less

If there was a happy ending, I couldn't see it happening. It was going for despair to worse.
