review 1: Delightfully macabre and creepy. I read it during my lunch hour, which might have been a mistake (especially the last story) but I couldn't put it down. These stories pull all my nightmare strings, from monsters in the dark to blacked-out windows to endings that are either negative or unsatisfactory (which in this case is perfect). Terrifying read for a dark winter night in front of a fireplace, especially if you live in an old house with creaky walls or mice in the ceiling. review 2: I read this book the second I bought it at Barnes & Nobles. I literally bought a slice of cheesecake and a drink at the Starbucks and sat down for about an hour and read it. It is such a beautiful book that really grabs you and doesn't let go until you're done with it. The twists ... morein each story were very well executed and beautifully illustrated. Everything about it is wonderful: the colors, the characters, the settings, etc. It deserves every star it gets. less
