review 1: Yuck! Emily Colin can not decide iif she is writing a supernatural love story or channeling a little erotica. So boring, such stilted writing, and such a contrived plot,. The one dimensional characters and the flat story line made it impossible for me to even slightly care what happened to her, her son, or the poor guy who would up with her husband's soul trapped inside him. I could not get past the first half of the book
review 2: 3.5 starsI spent the first 2/3 trying to figure out the secret behind who Nicholas was and why Aidan ended up inhabiting his soul. Apparently there was no real mystery behind it (he just jumped into a viable body when he died so he could say goodbye to Maddy and Gabe) and we were supposed to be invested in the love triangle.I love
... mored the relationship behind JC and Maddie.... I don't believe there is just one love for each of us - the world is too big a place for that. I thought it was good that they had each other to heal and grieve for someone very special for them and that Gabe had a father figure. There were a few holes in the plot: Did Maddie conceive that night she agreed to marry Aidan? That didn't make sense to me if they had been married and Gabe was four. And what parent lets their four-year-old watch Harry Potter - a movie that is at least PG and can lean toward dark and sinister? (This same child watches Aladdin - a much better choice.) And I totally thought Sarah would come back to help Maddie understand how Aidan was "back" in the form of Nicholas. (Isn't it weird that they introduced this new-agey mystic once and then never came back?) less
