review 1: A simple, colorful book for young children. The pictures and words match up particularly well in this book, even for a children's book. It encourages active reading, searching for the person or thing in the picture as described in the text. Kind of like I Spy or Where's Waldo, only much, much easier. Parents should sit down with their kids to read this book,taking time to ask questions and look over the pictures, then be prepared to get up and go to the park, because it looks like a lot of fun. 2015 Blue Hen Book for Young Readers Nominee.
review 2: Fascinating, detailed illustrations accompany a straightforward text that shows just who (or what) uses the park throughout the span of one day. Since it is hot weather, those park uses all revolve around water (inc... moreluding one hard rainstorm!).The biggest factor knocking this down from 5 stars to 4 for me is that I don't really believe the same baby and/or toddler and the accompanying caregiver are really going to be at the park ALL day. I've taken babies and toddlers to parks many times and after a couple of hours... you're done. If different families were mentioned/depicted, that would help. Notable, though, is that the text will mention a specific person and their action, but because the scenes are chock full of people, you have to really hunt to find the specific character. A plus...just make it different toddlers in the afternoon than those in the morning. less
