review 1: I'm always on the lookout for funny, light, happy, and WELL-WRITTEN chick lit. So hard to find! This novel was pretty good. There was too much focus on relationship/boy drama (well coulda guessed that from the title!). Viv is a likeable character and only slightly annoying in her boy drama meltdown. I did enjoy Emma Garcia's writing -- it was competent and reasonably well-plotted. Garcia doesn't reach the humour of a Sophie Kinsella or Helen Fielding, but worth a few hours of my life. How's that for faint praise?
review 2: I wish I could explain how much this book took me by surprise. I thought it was going to be one of those random Kindle books I found by accident, read it to pass time and didn't think too much about it after I put the book down. But Never Goo
... moregle Heartbreak was much more - I desperately clutched my Kindle, click click clicking from page to page, forcing myself to read as fast as I could. And every time I put the book down, whether it was to go to work or go to the gym (I did try to blowdry my hair while reading, and it didn't work out that great), I kept thinking about the story and how I couldn't wait to read it again. The story itself is pretty predictable, but the part that kept me guessing wasn't WHAT was going to happen, but HOW. It was fun, exciting and even though Viv was a ditzy, I loved her. There were a few things that bothered me, but not enough to not enjoy the book. From my understanding, Viv, Max and Lucy all went to college together. So why did we never see the three of them hanging out? If it's because Lucy and Max weren't friends then that should've been mentioned. I could've just read over the part and not realized it, but I felt like something was missing...some kind of bond between the three. I also didn't feel like Lucy was a very dimensional character. She was wild and free and very successful at work, but that's pretty much all I got. I wanted to know more about her friendship with Viv and Max since they've all been friends for so long. Maybe hear about their time in college together.Anyway, exciting plot, lovable characters and surprising amounts of time you'll spend thinking about Viv and her search for love. I'm thrilled to discover just now that there's a sequel, which I immediately bought and can't wait to devour. less

Witty, engaging, light. Good summer read with a like minded sequel.
