review 1: This was a hard book rate. I found much of it very shocking, but i think overall i liked it. It is a hard book to read because the narrator is Grace who has some mental disability. Her language is a little hard to follow until you get used to it. The subject matter also is difficult reading. There is a lot of abuse (physical, verbal, mental and sexual) in this book which is uncomfortable to read. Grace's words can also be a bit shocking. It has really opened my eyes to the preconceptions i had about disabled people.
review 2: I am wary about recommending this book to anyone. It can be heartbreaking and even disturbing at times, but I'm glad I read it because it gave me an insight into the life of someone (physically and developmentally challenged) who I n
... moreever read as a central character before. Often when that type of character appears in writing the are the beloved friend or family of the central character, here Grace is her own woman, with her own voice and her own worries. It is not an easy read at times but well worth it. It is an eye opener. less

I liked this, once I got used to the writing style. It was an uncomfortable read at times though.
